Be bold. Speak your mind. Drink Great Coffee.
We invest in the highest quality beans and we spent years developing our custom roasts so you can experience coffee in its peak form. We keep it simple and focused on coffee.
We support people who work.
Whether you are a stay at home mom, work at a desk or on an oil rig, you are important to us and you deserve quality coffee. The last thing you need while filing TPS reports and listening to Marge in accounting talk about her Yorkshire terrier's asthma, is bad coffee. So let us caffeinate you so that you can annoy Marge with how great our coffee is!
Our passion is to empower people.
Naturally we want to empower people like us, we are really just thinking out loud. So, if you hear us say something you like let us know!

The best method is what ever you prefer. Our personal belief is that the pour over method is best because you can control more variables. People have different tastes so brew it to maximize your value...unless you are doing the cowboy method, then maybe get some help.
Our suggestion is to do a 15:1 water to coffee ratio by weight. If you don't want to weigh your coffee and water, use one heaping tablespoon per cup of water. We weigh our coffee because different beans have different densities so a volume measurement will not give you a repeatable process for evaluation.
Tip: If using a drip brewer with a burner, turn off the burner immediately after the brew is done. Doing this will prevent the coffee from burning while sitting in the carafe.
Tip: The temperature of the water does change the flavor and we suggest 192-202F degrees, below and it will not extract all the flavor, too high and you burn the coffee. Almost all drip machines do not get hot enough to extract all the flavor, we have suggestions on equipment just reach out to us.
Trick: If you are a slow coffee drinker, heat your mug up before putting coffee in it. When coffee gets cold it gets bitter and ceramic mugs absorb heat very well. If you heat your mug first, the heat from the coffee doesn't get absorbed by the mug, therefore keeping your coffee warmer for longer. But first, check to see if you can microwave the mug.
Myth: I saw someone suggest adding salt to coffee...DO NOT ADD SALT TO COFFEE unless it is extremely cheap coffee, like you got a 55 gallon drum from a wholesaler and it has been in your freezer for a decade and it is stale. Coffee is naturally sweet, if done right coffee is like a toddler, sweet with a lot of stored energy. Coax the sweetness out and harness the energy.
